Automatic pump-action Stick Box

This is a transitional work. It now seems
to me that this work throws up technical and
aesthetic problems that I had to find other
ways of solving. Specifically the technical
limitations of using only clay to make forms
imposes limitations on making structures with
long thin parts like the legs of this tv shape.
Consequently I have dropped the' rule' I was
working with that I should work only with
fired clay
In the end I prefer the back of this piece,
it seems to be a more satisfying shape, and
more complete. As to the title I got that
by flicking through a Screw-Fix catalogue
and picking words on a whim.
